Discarded sheep wool for fertiliser pellets

post-image

When producing high quality beautiful yarn nearly 40%  of the original fleece can be discarded. Traditionally, this “dodgy” wool is dumped at tips (usually in plastic bags).

The discarded wool which is biodegradable and rich in nutrients is now being made into garden fertiliser pellets.

A crowdfunding campaign enabled the NSW mill owners to buy the equipment they need to make the pellets.

These natural pellets are good for the soil and prevent wool and plastic going to landfill.
