A British Artist who pokes fun at British Culture

post-image
Sarah Lucas is part of the generation of Young British Artists who emerged during the 1990s. Her works frequently employ visual puns and bawdy humour by incorporating photography, collage and found objects. From the start, her irreverent practice—which spans sculpture, installation, photography, and mixed-media work—has poked fun at British culture, sexual norms, gender roles, and notions of propriety. Lucas pushes the limits of figurative representation; euphemisms, visual puns, and appropriated objects abound throughout her oeuvre. https://www.artsy.net/artist/sarah-lucas
