A show that combines Japanese drumming with Indian dance

post-image
Chi Udaka blends heart-thumping drumming with the sinuous beauty of Indian dance to celebrate life from dawn to midnight. This production, showing at the Parade Theatre in Sydney until 6 August, is a cross-cultural theatrical partnership between drummers (Taikoz) and dancers (Lingalayam) and a great example of collaboration in the arts. The name Chi Udaka,is a combination of the earthiness of taiko drumming (Chi ? earth) and the flowing sensuality of dance (Udaka-water). www.taikoz.com
