A "plant cocoon" + tech = rejuvenation of degraded land at scale

post-image

Globally, 2 billion hectares of land is degraded, according to Land Life Company co-founder and CEO Jurriaan Ruys – that’s an area the size of the United States & China combined.

Enter some tech smarts & the Cocoon. A 100% biodegradable pod that supports young trees through year 1 with 25 litres of water & protection from wind, weeds and animals. With a 75%-95% survival rate, the 1 million trees planted in 2019 are making a good start. The company appears likely to have a project in Oz in 2020 too.
