fishIDER - the fish Identification Database and Educational Resource is a new technology
that helps to monitor and manage fisheries, developed by CSIRO. It's now being used by Indonesia's Centre for Fisheries Research and is expected to benefit researchers and industry worldwide. It is fundamental to accurately identify fish species that have been captured. The catch data collected are used to generate stock assessments. These inform important management decisions, such as catch quotas and maximum sustainable yields.
