A panel of global leaders has been organised by Advance.org and the Embassy of Australia in Washington DC to lead a conversation about building resiliency and seizing opportunities in Advanced Manufacturing at a Global Digital Town Hall.

We'll be examining sectors that can stimulate growth, unlock the talent and ingenuity of our people and create the variety of jobs needed to support a new economy in a COVID-19 constrained world.

Magnetic Attraction: Microplastics

A Kyushu University study (2021) estimated there were 24.4 trillion pieces of microplastics in the world's upper oceans or roughly 30 billion 500-ml plastic water bottles. Microplastics are tiny, toxic and very hard to remove from the environment. But researchers in the US have discovered that some Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents (NADES) can attract and bind microplastics, making it easier to remove them from the environment.
