I saw a presentation yesterday where the speaker said "2020 is a watershed for civilisation. Changes from now will be beyond belief". A Constitutional Council looks like a good way to promote positive change and draft any required referendums.
I love this idea and I think it begins by drawing together the disparate groups who all need to see constitutional reform to advance their particular causes. Indigenous recognition, republicans, state abolitionists etc.
Thanks Piers.
We should look to collaborate with other reform-minded groups to progress the concept. (Prof George Williams AO, UNSW has written articles with a similar thought.)
Best regards
Glenn
