A Bipartisan Innovation Policy for Australia

Resources and Agriculture generate a lot of Australia's National Income but for how long? What's next? Australia's Minister for Industry and Science The Hon Ed Husic MP asked when he spoke at fireside chat today with Maria MacNamara as part of Spark Festival at ACS (Australian Computer Society).

Innovation is needed to drive the economy. We have FIRB (Foreign Investment Board), supported on a bipartisan basis, to offer high level advice on foreign investment policy and monitor it. Why can't we have a similar board, supported on a bipartisan basis, to offer high level advice on innovation/investment policy? This would ensure a LT commitment to an agreed policy that fosters innovation.
