A Banana Safe Word To Help With Autistic Mental Processing

One autistic worker needed more mental processing time for instructions or approaches. Her team came up with a safe word. 

"If we want someone to give us space, in our team we say 'banana', and if we're in a client-facing space where that won't be appropriate, we turn our phones over on the table."
