Surveys show that when you ask people about the most effective ways to reduce their carbon footprint, they mention things like recycling, energy-efficient lightbulbs and ditching single-use plastic. What they often miss is the big things: installing a heat pump, shifting to a more plant-based diet, reducing food waste, buying clean energy, and driving and flying less.
